Greg Martray
Greg Martray is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors with over two decades of experience providing compassionate, practical, and results-oriented outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Since beginning his counseling career in 2006, Greg has built a reputation for helping clients navigate life’s challenges with understanding, professionalism, and effective therapeutic support.
Greg specializes in childhood and adolescent counseling, family therapy, and couples counseling. He utilizes a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) approach to help clients address depression, anxiety, anger management, behavioral concerns, and other maladaptive patterns that interfere with healthy functioning and relationships. His approach is grounded in helping clients develop insight, emotional resilience, communication skills, and practical strategies for lasting change.
He earned his Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling from Duquesne University and has spent the past 20 years working both as an outpatient counselor and school counselor. Greg’s extensive experience within school settings provides him with a deep understanding of the academic, emotional, behavioral, and social challenges children and teens face today.
Before entering the counseling profession, Greg spent six years working in the Juvenile Justice System as a Juvenile Probation Officer. This experience strengthened his ability to work effectively with at-risk youth, families in crisis, and individuals struggling with behavioral and emotional difficulties.
In addition to his professional counseling background, Greg brings leadership, discipline, and mentorship into his work through his personal interests and community involvement. He is a Nidan (second-degree) Black Belt in Shotokan Karate and serves as a coach for a high school clay target team, where he continues to mentor and encourage young people both on and off the field.
Greg is committed to creating a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable working toward meaningful personal growth and positive change.
